Favorite music to ride to: I like listening to the sound of the snow under my skis-that brings music to my ears!
Who is your greatest influence in life? I have many amazing people in my life who influence me, but I would have to say that my Dad is the biggest influence. Through him my passion for skiing began and still lives! He skis to work in the winter and built his life around skiing! I want to end up like him!
What is the one thing you look forward to most after a long day on the Mountain? Taking my boots off and sharing the day’s adventures with fellow skiers in front of a fire or in the hot tub with a beer!
What is the key piece of gear you will never go on the mountain without? My Cookie Pass! Best food ever down at the Wildflour Baking Company! Thanks Susan!
How do you stay in shape for skiing in the off-season? Being on the US Ski Team I have a workout program that runs from May until the first race in November! It’s pretty intense!
How do you mentally transition from riding the backcountry, into ski racing? Skiing is skiing no mater what your venue or which skis are on your feet! I prepare myself mentally and physically the same way weather it be sending it down a World Cup Downhill course or ripping down an Alaskan spine! It’s amazing how similar the two are!
What was the highlight of filming the PNH segment for Flow State in Alaska? The highlight for me up in Alaska with PNH was watching Mitch Tolderer rip down the "Rattlesnake"! It was a first decent down this gnarly and technical big face and it showcased everything that I always imagined Alaska to be like! Watching that and then just being in the big mountains with Tom and Danny Day, Court Leve and Kevin Quinn was awesome! We are all from Squaw and we had a great working dynamic! We all worked so hard to get the shots and It was a really fun experience! I hope to continue filming more in the future! And of course since this was my first time heli-skiing, just flying around in the helicopter was super fun!
