Amie Engerbretson

Where were you born? Truckee, CA

Where did you learn to ski/ride? Squaw Valley

Who taught you to ski/ride? My Dad

Who inspired you in skiing/riding while you were growing up? Shane McConkey, Jamie Berg, Ingrid Backstrom

Breakfast of champions? Toast! (and other protein but toast is the glory)

Best après meal? Beer, totally counts as a meal, especially if it's dark.

What do you enjoy doing to give your body a break? (Recovery routine, healing tips, etc.) Yoga is the best for in season maintenance and recovery. I also love to find natural hot springs for a mineral soak!

Can you tell us about some of the gear you were using in your segment with WME? I was skiing on K2 this season. In AK I was mostly skiing on the Pontoon. The Pontoon was designed by Shane McConkey to ski in Alaska and they were killer up there. It was pretty cool to be skiing in AK for the first time on a ski that an idol and friend of mine designed. I also skied on the Remedy 112 which is a great all mountain and pow women's ski that can tackle anything!

Other than professional athlete, what is your dream job? Own my own media house where I would produce and art direct. Or a professional cat walker. That would be cool too.

Most memorable moment filming with WME this year? (good or bad) AHHHH, so many. Bad: a small slab that released on me on top of Pyramid, knocking me off my feet and inverted on top of a huge face. It was the most incredible save of my life, but very scary. Best moment? Flying down RFS, the last line of the trip, super fast, with my slough and a heli chasing me. Was literally the coolest moment of my life. Second best? Getting buzzed by a heli while dancing in my long johns on top of the RV. The goofy moments can be some of the best!

Your idea of a perfect vacation sans skiing? Anywhere with beautiful scenery, fun stuff to do and most importantly with great people. There are so many amazing places I want to explore that I could never list them all!

Mantra to live by? Meow!

Tunes to ski to? Anything with a good beat. Odesza was my fav this past year!
